As the first director, I am honoured to have been selected to assemble and lead the Serious Incident Response Team of Newfoundland and Labrador. The members of this team possess the integrity, character, principle and investigative skill required to fulfill the Team’s very important role.

I believe in justice and accountability. Public confidence and trust in policing is paramount. No one is above the law. We are all equal under it.

SIRT-NL’s vision is to enhance public confidence and ensure accountability by conducting thorough investigations of serious incidents involving the police in Newfoundland and Labrador. We achieve this through investigative excellence, integrity, professionalism, objectivity, independence and transparency. As director, I remain committed to building trust and seeking truth.

I believe that, to have confidence in the justice system, Newfoundlanders and Labradorians should be informed and understand how the system works. This website is designed with this in mind. It is my hope that through learning more about SIRT-NL, the public will have a clear and comprehensive understanding of our role and responsibilities.
