Community Outreach

SIRT-NL believes community outreach is instrumental in ensuring all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have an awareness and understanding of our mandate, responsibilities and role. By reaching out to Newfoundland and Labrador communities, SIRT-NL strives to ensure public confidence in Newfoundland and Labrador’s police and in SIRT-NL itself is maintained.

Objectives:

  • To promote understanding of SIRT-NL’s mandate and role;
  • To develop and strengthen relationships; and
  • To facilitate public education and awareness.

SIRT-NL welcomes opportunities to engage in discussion, consultation and public education across Newfoundland and Labrador and across the diverse population we serve. We reach out to connect with various groups, including but not limited to:

  • First Nations communities;
  • Community Advocacy and Civil Liberties Groups;
  • Police Agencies; and
  • Academic Institutions.

If you see an opportunity for SIRT-NL to engage with your community, please contact us.
