Accountability and Transparency are among SIRT-NL’s core values. Public confidence is paramount. To have confidence and trust, the public must be informed. SIRT-NL values an open and positive relationship with the media and provides a timely and appropriate response to all media inquiries.

Reporting a Serious Incident

SIRT-NL does not accept reports of serious incidents via social media. If you wish to report a serious incident, please contact SIRT-NL via phone or email.

We use our social media to share information about our agency, including decisions of the director, and other information we feel may be helpful to the public.

Comments and Interaction

We will read comments and participate in discussions when appropriate. We ask that you ensure your comments are respectful. We reserve the right to delete comments that violate this policy. The user may be blocked and reported to prevent further inappropriate comments.

We reserve the right to hide, delete or otherwise remove comments that:

  • Contain personal information;
  • Express racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, insulting, threatening or otherwise prejudicial messages;
  • Convey serious, unproven or inaccurate accusations against individuals or organizations;
  • Are presented for advertising purposes;
  • Constitute spam;
  • Encourage illegal activity; and
  • Contain announcements that are political in nature.
